A man and a teenager have appeared in court charged with starting five fires that caused more than £7,000 of damage to six Stamford shopfronts.
Peter Cooke, 20, of Rock House Gardens, Stamford, and a 17-year-old will appear at Spalding Magistrates Court on Thursday, each charged with five counts of arson.
The charges relate to fires started in Stamford town centre in the early hours of May 17.
The fires caused £3,921.18 of damage to Hambleton Bakery and £690 to Blockbuster in Ironmonger Street, £1,270.38 to Timpson in High Street, £700 to Fine Foods and £430.98 in St Mary’s Street, and £50 to AJ’s Cards in Chapel Yard.
The pair appeared at Spalding Magistrates Court on July 18 for a preliminary hearing. They were bailed until Thursday’s hearing. Neither has yet entered a plea.
